The Application Procedure

Applications may be submitted through our new online form only. Paper applications will not be accepted. Please review the requirements below carefully, and prepare all needed items before beginning your application.
 
A completed application includes:

  • Completed application – please fill in all sections – do not type in “same”

General Requirements

  1. In order to be considered for a U.Va. Parents Committee grant, the organization or department must submit a complete application.

Organizational Summary

  1. Summary of the organization/department’s purpose, activities and achievements

Project Summary

  1. Detailed description of the project, including clearly stated goals and objectives and the name of the program
  2. Description of  who the project will benefit (the number of students / description)
  3. Documented need for the proposed project or program, including the potential impact of the program (if applicable)
  4. An evaluation plan to measure effectiveness in meeting goals and objectives

Budget Summary

  1. Proposed budget
  2. The dollar amount requested should be specific; estimates - “ball-park figures” are not acceptable 
  3. Requests should be itemized; show the cost elements that make up your total request
  • If an organization/department is submitting more than one proposal, we request that you prioritize your proposals. Indicate in the narrative the priority of each proposal.
  • U.Va. Parents Committee grants are for use in the fiscal year 2011-12 ending June 30, 2012.  Funds may not be carried over to the next year.  If your project is an on-going one, please briefly describe how you plan to continue the proposed project.

U.Va. Parents Committee grants may be used only for the purposes stated in your proposal.
 
Acknowledgment

  • The U.Va. Parents Committee requests that the source of the grants be recognized, where possible, such as in an announcement at the event, in a note on a newsletter, the logo on a brochure, flyer or web page, or related materials. 
  • Grant recipients are encouraged to use the U.Va. Parents Committee logo in acknowledgments. A logo is available for use – please ask for a copy.
  • Please state that the project was in part made possible by a grant from the U.Va. Parents Committee.  This type of recognition is important because it will help raise funds for future projects.
