Filipino Food Night
Filipino Food Night is when the Organization of Young Filipino Americans serve traditional Filipino food to fundraise for the OYFA Excellence Scholarship,. The scholarship is annually presented to an outstanding first year. Part of the fundraising efforts also go towards endowing the scholarship. We contacted 1440 people via Facebook and OYFA's mailing list. The total number of attendees within the community (including students, faculty, and other Charlottesville residents) was between 175-200 people. We did not really differentiate who the students and non-students were, but we do know that there were more students in attendance. We were able to raise $1200.00 towards the OYFA Excellence Scholarship.
